WF65AL is a budget domestic 75-ohm twin coaxial cable ideally suited for use on short incoming cable runs from a satellite dish to a twin tuner PVR such as a Sky+ or Sky+HD box.
The cable is CAI and Sky approved for use on the Sky+ and Sky+HD boxes but it's at the lower end of the scale when it comes to performace compared to the similar copper screened WF65CU and larger diameter WF100 twin cables. If the budget allows (and for maximum signal at the receiver end) we would always recommend using the better quality cables where possible, in particular on longer cable runs.
So, in a nutshell... what's the difference between the twin coaxial cables?
- WF65AL Twin - A budget domestic twin cable with a copper core, aluminium first screen and mixed tin/copper braiding.
- WF100 Twin - A high quality twin cable (much larger outer diametar than the WF65 type) with a copper core, plain copper first screen and plain copper braiding.
- WF65CU Twin- As WF100 Twin above but more copper braiding, thinner and easier to run. A high quality twin cable with a copper core, plain copper first screen and plain copper braiding.
